She is particularly comfortable playing physically skilful acting roles due to her initial training as a classical and contemporary dancer at Elmhurst Ballet School. She uses these skills to bring the characters that she plays, to life, particularly for motion capture, physically challenging roles and on stage. She has a unique look with strong features, high cheek bones and long thin limbs. Her look enables her to look both frail and strong!
Beyond her dance training and private acting tutelage with Ian Cullen (LAMDA) & Yvonne Cullen (Guildhall), she continued her Musical Theatre studies at The London School of Musical Theatre where she became particularly passionate about new theatre writing. She is also an accomplished pianist with ABRSM Grade 8 distinction, ABRSM Performance Diploma and LRSM Performance Diploma. Other musical instruments include Grade 8 Violin, Beginner Accordion, Beginner Alto Sax and the Melodica. Sophie studied singing with opera singer, Stella Skitch, studying bel canto before studying musical theatre singing at LSMT and beyond.
